Q&A with the ambassador

When did hacking first catch your interest, and why?
It started in childhood. My brother and I used to take apart electronic devices and modify them to trigger unexpected behavior. We didn't always reassemble them perfectly, though. I enjoyed looking for unconventional ways to solve problems and realized that hacking is exactly that kind of approach.
What tools and software are in your daily toolkit?
Visual Studio Code, PowerShell, and Bash. With that stack, I can build pretty much anything else I need.
What skills are essential for a successful career in cybersecurity?
Patience and systems thinking. Choosing a field you sincerely enjoy, one that inspires you to learn and improve.
How do you keep your skills sharp?
I constantly read various blogs and popular channels to follow emerging TTPs and technologies.
What personal qualities make a hacker truly effective?
Patience and hard work. Thirst for knowledge. Passion for the craft. Gaining a deep understanding of new technologies instead of blindly pasting payloads. This also helps build a successful career in cybersecurity.
